I found your blog through a Baker Ancestors group on Yahoo. As I was reading old posts of yours, I followed the link to DAR and found 6 ancestors who had served in the Revolutionary War of whom I was completely unaware! I just started genealogy research last March after watching "Who Do You Think You Are?" on TV. History has always fascinated me (majored in Medieval History at UC Riverside), but I found US History to be too "political" for my taste. However, since discovering my ancestors' past lives (primarily using Ancestry.com right now - good starting place, but I've found an enormous number of mistakes and I'm new at this) I found a new passion in learning about Colonial history. Comes in handy since I'm a teacher!

I just wanted to say thanks.

PS I ordered your book! Also the "Handybook for Genealogists" that in a previous post you had mentioned might be going out of print.
